What Is Pet Formula For Allergy and Rash?

Pet Formula For Allergy and Rash is a traditional Chinese herbal formula designed to support healthy skin, seasonal and environmental allergy relief, normal immune function, digestive health, and your pet's natural ability to maintain healthy skin and a comfortable coat.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), healthy skin depends on the proper balance of the Lung, Spleen, Liver, and defensive Qi. When these systems become imbalanced, excess Wind, Heat, Dampness, or weakened digestion may contribute to skin irritation, redness, itching, inflammation, excessive scratching, recurring skin flare-ups, and digestive upset. Poor digestive function may also lead to dampness accumulation, which is traditionally believed to contribute to skin and allergy concerns.

Pet Formula For Allergy and Rash is based on traditional Chinese herbal principles and contains carefully selected herbs traditionally used to soothe itchy skin, support healthy immune balance, promote skin comfort, strengthen the Stomach and Spleen, support Liver function, help clear excess Heat and Dampness, and encourage the body's natural detoxification processes. This formula is commonly chosen for pets experiencing red, itchy skin, frequent scratching, skin irritation, inflammation, seasonal or environmental sensitivities, and mild digestive upset such as soft stools or occasional diarrhea.*

Common Signs of Allergy and Skin Imbalance in Traditional Chinese Medicine

  • Red, itchy skin
  • Frequent scratching or licking
  • Skin irritation or rashes
  • Hot spots or inflamed skin
  • Seasonal or environmental sensitivities
  • Excessive chewing of paws or legs
  • Dry, flaky, or irritated skin
  • Mild digestive upset
  • Soft stools or occasional diarrhea
  • Excess dampness contributing to skin discomfort
  • Recurring skin flare-ups
  • General discomfort associated with skin irritation

Why Choose Silkie Herbs Pet Formula For Allergy and Rash?

  • Based on classical Chinese herbal principles
  • Carefully selected medicinal herbs
  • Designed to support healthy skin and immune balance
  • Traditionally used to soothe itchy skin and skin irritation
  • Supports healthy digestion, Liver, and Spleen function
  • Helps maintain normal inflammatory balance
  • Crafted to support the underlying imbalance rather than temporarily masking symptoms
  • Supports long-term skin health, digestive wellness, and overall vitality

Suggested Combination for Comprehensive Skin & Allergy Support

For pets experiencing recurring allergies, frequent scratching, seasonal skin irritation, chronic skin sensitivity, digestive imbalance, or recurrent hot spots, Pet Formula For Allergy & Rash is commonly paired with Pet Immune Support and Pet Parasite Cleanse to provide more comprehensive support based on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) patterns.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, healthy skin reflects the balance of the Lung, Liver, Spleen, defensive Qi (Wei Qi), and healthy digestion. While Pet Formula For Allergy & Rash is traditionally used to support healthy skin, calm occasional itching, reduce Damp-Heat, and promote the body's natural detoxification processes, additional formulas may be recommended depending on the underlying pattern contributing to recurring skin concerns.

Pet Formula For Immune Support is traditionally used to strengthen defensive Qi (Wei Qi), support healthy immune function, promote overall vitality, and help maintain the body's natural resilience during seasonal and environmental changes. Supporting the immune system may help pets maintain healthy skin over the long term.

Pet Formula Parasite Cleanse is traditionally recommended when intestinal parasites or digestive imbalance may be contributing to chronic skin irritation, excessive scratching, poor coat quality, digestive upset, or recurring inflammation. Supporting intestinal health helps promote a healthier digestive environment and overall wellness.

Once your pet's allergy symptoms, itching, skin irritation, and digestive imbalance have significantly improved, many pet owners transition to Well Firm Stool Formula to help maintain healthy digestion, support normal stool consistency, strengthen the Spleen and Stomach, and reduce the likelihood of recurring digestive issues that may contribute to future skin flare-ups.

Together, these formulas provide a comprehensive approach by supporting healthy immune function, balanced digestion, natural detoxification, intestinal health, Liver and Spleen function, healthy skin, and overall wellness. This combination is commonly chosen by pet owners seeking natural support for pet allergies, itchy skin, skin rashes, frequent scratching, seasonal sensitivities, digestive health, and long-term skin comfort.*

Benefits of Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash

Support Healthy Skin and Coat*

Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash is traditionally used to support healthy skin and a comfortable coat by addressing internal patterns commonly associated with itching, redness, and skin sensitivity. In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), healthy skin reflects balanced Qi, proper circulation, and harmonious function of the Liver, Spleen, and Lung systems.

Help Relieve Occasional Itchy Skin*

Persistent scratching, licking, or chewing may indicate an underlying internal imbalance rather than a skin problem alone. This formula is traditionally used to help maintain comfortable skin and support the body's natural response to occasional itching and irritation.

Support Healthy Skin During Seasonal and Environmental Challenges*

Many pets experience skin discomfort during seasonal changes or exposure to environmental allergens such as pollen, grass, dust, or mold. This formula is traditionally used to support healthy skin and help maintain normal comfort throughout seasonal transitions.

Promote Healthy Skin Barrier Function*

Healthy skin acts as the body's first protective barrier. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, balanced Qi and Blood help nourish the skin and maintain its natural protective function. This formula is traditionally used to support healthy skin integrity and overall skin wellness.

Help Clear Internal Heat*

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, red, inflamed, itchy skin is commonly associated with internal Heat or Wind-Heat. This herbal formula is traditionally used to help clear excess Heat, cool the Blood, and promote healthier skin from within.

Support Healthy Moisture Balance in the Skin*

Excess Damp-Heat may contribute to recurring skin irritation, redness, and uncomfortable skin conditions. This formula is traditionally used to help reduce Damp accumulation and promote healthy skin balance.

Encourage Healthy Circulation of Qi and Blood*

Smooth circulation of Qi and Blood is traditionally believed to nourish the skin and support its natural healing process. This formula is traditionally used to promote healthy circulation and maintain normal skin comfort.

Support Liver Balance and Healthy Skin Function*

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Liver plays an important role in the smooth flow of Qi and healthy Blood circulation, both of which influence skin health. This formula is traditionally used to support Liver balance and promote healthy skin function.

Help Maintain Healthy Immune and Skin Balance*

Many recurring skin sensitivities are traditionally viewed as patterns involving Defensive Qi (Wei Qi), Wind, and Heat. This formula is traditionally used to support the body's natural defenses while promoting balanced skin health.

Support Overall Skin Wellness and Comfort*

Traditional Chinese herbal formulas are commonly used as part of a long-term wellness routine. This formula is traditionally used to support healthy skin, maintain internal balance, and promote long-term skin comfort and overall wellness.

Individual results may vary. Improvement occurs gradually as internal balance is restored.

Common Signs Your Pet May Need Allergy & Rash Support

This formula is most appropriate for Traditional Chinese Medicine patterns associated with Wind-Heat, Damp-Heat, skin irritation, and internal imbalance affecting the skin. Every pet is different, and symptoms may vary.

Persistent Itchy Skin

Frequent scratching, licking, chewing, or rubbing against furniture or carpets may indicate underlying skin irritation or internal imbalance according to Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Red, Inflamed, or Irritated Skin

Areas of redness, warmth, inflammation, or skin irritation may appear on the ears, paws, belly, face, neck, armpits, groin, or other parts of the body.

Recurring Skin Rashes

Rashes that improve temporarily but continue returning may suggest ongoing internal Heat or Damp-Heat patterns affecting the skin.

Excessive Paw Licking or Chewing

Many pets repeatedly lick or chew their paws due to skin irritation, allergies, or environmental sensitivities. Persistent paw licking may reflect internal imbalance according to Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Frequent Ear Irritation

Recurring ear discomfort, head shaking, ear scratching, or wax buildup often accompanies pets with underlying allergy patterns and Damp-Heat imbalance.

Small Bumps, Hives, or Raised Skin

Some pets develop small bumps, hives, or raised patches that appear after exposure to environmental allergens, dietary sensitivities, or internal Heat patterns.

Hair Loss from Excessive Scratching

Constant scratching or chewing may lead to thinning fur, localized hair loss, or damaged skin over time.

Seasonal Skin Sensitivities

Skin irritation may become worse during spring, summer, fall, or periods of increased pollen, grass, mold, or other seasonal environmental changes.

Food or Environmental Sensitivities

Skin discomfort that appears after certain foods, treats, cleaning products, dust, pollen, flea exposure, or environmental changes may suggest underlying sensitivity patterns.

Dry, Sensitive, or Easily Irritated Skin

Skin that becomes dry, flaky, sensitive, or easily irritated by weather, grooming products, or environmental exposure may benefit from internal support.

Recurrent Hot Spots

Localized areas of excessive licking, chewing, redness, moisture, or skin irritation that tend to recur may reflect Damp-Heat patterns affecting the skin.

Stress-Related Skin Flare-Ups

Some pets scratch, lick, or develop skin irritation more frequently during periods of stress, travel, changes in routine, or environmental adjustments. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, emotional stress may contribute to Liver Qi stagnation, which can influence skin health.

Persistent Skin Discomfort That Keeps Returning

Skin problems that temporarily improve but repeatedly return may suggest an underlying internal imbalance rather than an isolated skin issue.

Ongoing Skin Sensitivity to Environmental Triggers

Pets that consistently react to grass, pollen, dust mites, mold, fleas, household cleaners, or changing weather conditions may benefit from long-term internal support for skin balance.

Pets with chronic, recurring, or long-standing allergy and skin sensitivity patterns may also benefit from combining this formula with Pet Immune Support to strengthen Defensive Qi (Wei Qi) and support the body's natural response to environmental allergens. Once skin balance has improved, transitioning to Pet Formula for Well-Formed Stool, Pet Spleen Support, or Pet Kidney Support may help maintain long-term digestive and constitutional balance, depending on your pet's underlying Traditional Chinese Medicine pattern.

Diet and Prevention for Allergy & Rash

Supporting Healthy Skin According to Traditional Chinese Medicine

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, healthy skin depends on balanced Wei Qi (Defensive Qi), healthy Lung and Liver function, and strong Spleen Qi. When Wind, Heat, Dampness, or environmental allergens overwhelm the body's natural defenses, pets may experience itchy skin, redness, excessive scratching, hot spots, skin irritation, or recurring rashes. Proper nutrition, healthy digestion, and immune support help maintain healthy skin and promote long-term comfort.

A Proven, Research-Backed Pet Allergy & Rash Formula

Modern research on traditional herbs commonly used in allergy and skin support formulas, particularly Honeysuckle Flower (Jin Yin Hua), Schizonepeta (Jing Jie), Fresh Rehmannia Root (Sheng Di Huang), and Astragalus (Huang Qi), has explored their antioxidant activity, immune regulation, skin barrier support, and inflammatory pathway modulation. These herbs have been widely studied for their bioactive compounds and their traditional roles in maintaining healthy skin, supporting the body's natural response to occasional itching and irritation, and promoting overall immune balance.

Research published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology, Frontiers in Pharmacology, Complementary Medicine Research, and Frontiers in Natural Products has investigated the biological activities of these traditional herbs, including chlorogenic acid from Honeysuckle Flower, the immunomodulatory polysaccharides found in Astragalus, and the naturally occurring compounds present in Schizonepeta and Fresh Rehmannia Root. These studies have explored their antioxidant, immune-supporting, skin wellness, and inflammatory pathway-supporting properties.

From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, healthy skin depends on the proper balance of the Lung, Spleen, and Liver, along with the body's ability to dispel Wind, clear Heat, eliminate Dampness, and nourish healthy Blood. When these systems remain balanced, the skin is traditionally believed to maintain greater comfort, resilience, and overall wellness while supporting the body's natural response to seasonal and environmental allergens.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash used for?

Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash is traditionally used in Chinese herbal practice to support healthy skin, a balanced immune system, and the body's natural response to environmental and food sensitivities. It is commonly used for pets experiencing itchy skin, red skin, excessive scratching, hot spots, skin irritation, allergic dermatitis, seasonal allergies, recurrent skin flare-ups, ear irritation, and allergy-related skin discomfort.

How does Traditional Chinese Medicine view pet allergies?

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), pet allergies are often associated with Wind, Heat, Dampness, and Blood imbalances affecting the skin. When these patterns are present, pets may develop itching, redness, inflamed skin, excessive licking, chewing, hair loss, recurring skin irritation, and hot spots. Traditional herbal formulas are commonly used to help restore internal balance while supporting healthy skin and immune function.

What is Wind-Heat in Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Wind-Heat is a Traditional Chinese Medicine pattern commonly associated with sudden itching, red skin, inflamed ears, skin irritation, hot spots, and allergic flare-ups. Pets with Wind-Heat may scratch frequently, develop red patches, or experience recurring seasonal skin problems. Traditional herbal formulas are used to help clear Heat, expel Wind, and support healthy skin.

Who may benefit from Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash?

Dogs and cats experiencing itchy skin, red skin, skin rashes, excessive scratching, chewing or licking of the paws, seasonal allergies, food sensitivities, environmental allergies, hot spots, recurrent ear irritation, allergic dermatitis, or recurring skin inflammation may benefit from Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash as part of their daily wellness routine.

Can Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash be used for food allergies?

Traditional Chinese herbal formulas have long been used to support pets experiencing food-related skin sensitivities. Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash is commonly chosen by pet owners whose dogs or cats experience itchy skin, skin inflammation, paw licking, ear irritation, or digestive upset associated with food sensitivities.

Can Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash help with excessive scratching?

Yes. Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash is commonly selected by pet owners whose pets scratch excessively due to seasonal allergies, environmental allergens, food sensitivities, or recurring skin irritation. Traditional Chinese Medicine focuses on addressing the internal imbalance that contributes to recurring itching.

Why is immune balance important for healthy skin?

A healthy immune system helps the body respond appropriately to everyday environmental challenges. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, balanced Lung, Spleen, Liver, and Defensive Qi (Wei Qi) function are considered important for maintaining healthy skin, reducing recurring flare-ups, and supporting long-term wellness.

Can recurring skin allergies return after treatment?

According to Traditional Chinese Medicine, recurring skin problems often indicate that the underlying internal imbalance has not been fully corrected. Pets may continue to experience recurring itching, skin redness, ear irritation, or hot spots if Wind, Heat, Dampness, or weakened Defensive Qi remain unresolved.

What skin conditions are commonly associated with Wind-Heat and Damp-Heat?

Wind-Heat and Damp-Heat are commonly associated with itchy skin, red skin, inflamed ears, allergic dermatitis, hot spots, skin rashes, excessive scratching, licking or chewing of the paws, hair loss, skin odor, moist skin lesions, and recurring seasonal allergies.

How long should my pet take Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash?

The honey pill formula uses pure honey as the natural binding agent and follows traditional Chinese herbal preparation methods. The powder formula contains the same herbal blend in powdered form without honey, making it suitable for pets that prefer powder mixed into food. These herbs have traditionally been used to help clear Heat, expel Wind, nourish Yin, support healthy skin, strengthen Defensive Qi (Wei Qi), and promote balanced immune function.

Can Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash be used year-round?

Many pet owners choose to use Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash throughout allergy season or during periods of recurring skin irritation. Others incorporate it into a long-term wellness routine to help maintain healthy skin, support immune balance, and reduce seasonal flare-ups.

What makes Silkie Herbs Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash different?

Silkie Herbs Pet Formulas are rooted in five generations of traditional herbal practice. Each formula is based on classical Traditional Chinese Medicine principles and uses carefully selected medicinal herbs.

Our traditional honey-bound pills are made using pure honey as the only binding agent without artificial fillers, synthetic binders, preservatives, or unnecessary additives. For pets that cannot have honey or prefer a different format, the same carefully balanced formula is also available as a pure herbal powder. Every batch is manufactured in the United States and undergoes rigorous quality testing to support consistency, purity, and authenticity.

Why does Traditional Chinese Medicine focus on the Lung and Spleen for skin allergies?

Traditional Chinese Medicine teaches that healthy skin begins internally. The Lung governs the skin and protective Defensive Qi (Wei Qi), while the Spleen supports digestion and transforms food into Qi and nourishment. When these systems function properly, the skin is traditionally believed to be healthier and more resilient against recurring allergies.

Can digestive health affect my pet's skin?

Yes. Traditional Chinese Medicine considers digestion one of the foundations of healthy skin. A weakened Spleen may contribute to Dampness, which can manifest as chronic itching, moist skin lesions, recurring ear infections, skin odor, loose stools, and persistent skin irritation. Supporting digestive health is often an important part of long-term allergy management.

Can Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash be given daily?

Many pet owners choose to give Pet Formula for Allergy & Rash daily during active allergy seasons or while addressing chronic skin concerns. Consistent use is often preferred when supporting healthy skin, balanced immune function, and long-term wellness according to Traditional Chinese Medicine principles.

What foods help support healthy skin in pets?

Many practitioners recommend feeding a fresh, species-appropriate diet with high-quality protein, cooked vegetables when appropriate, adequate hydration, and limiting foods that may trigger sensitivities. Traditional Chinese Medicine often recommends avoiding foods that may contribute to internal Heat or Dampness in pets prone to recurring skin problems.

What is the difference between seasonal allergies and internal imbalance in Traditional Chinese Medicine?

Modern veterinary medicine often focuses on external allergens such as pollen, grass, dust, or food ingredients. Traditional Chinese Medicine also considers the pet's internal balance, including Wind, Heat, Dampness, Blood, Lung function, Spleen function, and Defensive Qi (Wei Qi). Addressing both the external trigger and the internal pattern is traditionally believed to provide more lasting support.

Why are Silkie Herbs Pet Formulas available as both honey pills and powder?

Silkie Herbs offers both traditional honey-bound herbal pills and pure herbal powder to meet the needs of different pets. Honey-bound pills follow centuries of traditional Chinese herbal preparation, while the powder formula provides the same carefully balanced herbal blend in an easy-to-mix format for pets that prefer herbs added directly to food.

Are Silkie Herbs Pet Formulas third-party tested?

Yes. Silkie Herbs performs testing throughout the production process, from raw herb verification to finished product testing. This includes screening for identity, purity, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbial contaminants to help ensure quality and consistency.

Where are Silkie Herbs Pet Formulas made?

Silkie Herbs Pet Formulas are manufactured and packaged in the United States. Every formula is produced under strict quality standards while following traditional Chinese herbal principles and preparation methods.

What makes traditional Chinese herbal formulas different from single-herb supplements?

Traditional Chinese herbal formulas are carefully balanced combinations of herbs designed to work together according to classical TCM principles. Rather than relying on a single ingredient, each herb serves a specific role within the formula to promote balance, harmony, healthy skin, and overall wellness.

Why does Silkie Herbs use traditional herbal preparation methods?

Many herbs are traditionally processed using methods known as Pao Zhi (炮製), which may include roasting, steaming, honey-frying, wine-frying, fermenting, or aging. These preparation methods have been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine to refine the properties of herbs and support their traditional functions.

100% Natural

Our herbal supplements are made with natural honey as the binder. Honey can support the lungs, intestine, spleen, and stomach; It works as a natural preservative with antibacterial and healing properties. Unlike other herbal supplement companies that use starch, magnesium, and other chemical substances as binders for their supplements, we only use 100% honey. We also avoid using vegetable capsules because they require chemical components to form the capsule shape.

Peak Harvest Herbs

The herbs in our herbal pill blends are harvested at the height of their potency and they are substantially more expensive than less potent herbs that were harvested in the pre-or post-season, but in our view, there is no substitute for premium quality.

Here's my story.

If you feel skeptical or unsure of Chinese herbal remedies, I could hardly blame you. I wasn't a believer either until my daughter grew very sick and my father (the 4th generation herbalist) helped her get better with herbs.

I was born into a family of herbalists. My father, my grandfather, my great-grandfather, great-great grandfather were all herbalists. I represent the 5th generation in this long lineage dating back to Imperial China.

When I was three or four years old, I started to learn herbal songs and how to identify herbs. As I got older, I was taught how to process the herbs while working in my dad’s clinic in Vietnam. After we immigrated to the United States, my dad asked me if I wanted to pursue a career in TCM as an herbalist or acupuncturist. I said, “No, just leave me alone, Dad. I will find something I enjoy doing for work.” So, he left me alone to find my own way.

I wanted nothing to do with herbal medicine until I gave birth to my second daughter, Catherine, who was born with severe gastric reflux. When Catherine was 10 days old, I had to take her to the ER for IV injections into her little hand because she couldn’t keep milk down. Besides vomiting, she also was having diarrhea. Catherine was losing nutrition from both ends, so her tiny body was shrinking. At that time my dad warned me, “She needs to be treated with herbal medicine, otherwise she will have seizures later on.” I didn’t fully understand what my dad was talking about, so I ignored him.

My daughter got so ill that she could only take half an ounce of milk per hour. Before feeding her, I would use a syringe and shoot Zantac into her mouth to lessen the vomiting. As time passed, she needed milk more often, and consequently more Zantac. By the time Catherine was 8 months old, she needed to be fed and medicated 11 times a day.

I could hardly sleep, eat, shower or rest. Even at night, I had to drape my daughter over my shoulder for her to sleep. If I put Catherine down, she would vomit. I barely had time to squeeze in a 5-minute shower once or twice a week for myself. I was exhausted, but what could I do? I had to care for my daughter and do my best to survive each day with the hope that she would get better or at the very least her condition would not worsen.

Catherine had to wear a turtleneck with two sweaters along with a baby cap and scarf to be outside during the heat of summer, even when temperatures were 100 plus degrees. If I didn’t cover her up, she would have a runny nose, cough, and non stop vomiting. How will she be able to go to school or anywhere with air conditioning?

One day we went to a Vietnamese pho restaurant. After I set Catherine down into the high-chair, I turned around and adjusted my chair. Then I heard a woman’s shout, “Look at her!” I looked in the direction she pointed. It was Catherine…her eyes rolled up and her entire body stiff and shaking with fluid coming out of her mouth. Someone said, “Squeeze some lemon into her mouth.” I did it without hesitating and Catherine’s body relaxed.

We rushed her to the ER. For 3 days she was in the NICU where they monitored her brain. The doctors told me I was lucky because my daughter’s seizure didn’t last for more than 3 minutes which would have damaged her brain. After that I always carried a piece of lemon because I had no idea when my baby girl might have another seizure.

The seizures started to come weekly, so the doctor prescribed anti-seizure medication. Catherine wasn’t even 1 year of age, and already she was taking Zantac 11 times plus anti-seizure medicine 3 times a day. It was nearly impossible to administer the anti-seizure medicine because whenever I took out the syringe, she would cry and start vomiting.

I took Catherine to see a specialist at CHOC. I asked, “Doctor, have you ever seen any infant with this condition get well?” The doctor replied, “It depends. Some will grow out of it, but some don’t. If they don’t, then they will have to take medication for the rest of their life.”

“What do you mean by grow out of it?” The doctor explained that Catherine might get better by herself as she got older.

My mind was racing. “All this time the prescribed medication has not been treating her stomach?” The doctor said, “No, it only helps to guide the food down, so she won’t vomit it back up. That’s why you have to give it to her before the feeding.”

“Well, what if she doesn’t grow out of it?” In that case, Catherine will be dependent upon medication for the rest of her life. The doctor further informed me that she too was born with gastro reflux and is still taking medicine for the condition.

Her statement was like lightning in my brain. If the doctor can’t even treat herself for gastro reflux, how can she help my daughter? Seeing the futility of my path, I turned to my dad for help.

My dad advised me to stop all western drugs and to give her an herbal prescription 3 times a day. Administering medicine 3 times instead of 14 times a day to Catherine was a godsend to me. Even though it sounded too good to be true, I figured that I could still give Zantac to Catherine if she didn’t get better or continued to vomit.

After one month of herbs 3 times a day, Catherine vomited less and less. To test Catherine, I let her cry to see if she would vomit. She didn’t, so I knew she was getting better. After another month of herbal medicine, Catherine was able to wear less clothing without getting a runny nose, coughing, or vomiting. After 3 months of herbal formulas, she stopped having episodes of gastro reflux and seizure. Catherine will enjoy a normal, healthy life.

Because of Catherine’s dramatic recovery, I was sold on Chinese medicine and asked my dad to treat me. I fainted very easily, especially during the winter. After a few months of herbal formulas, I have never fainted again.

I started to have time to think and tried to understand why a piece of lemon helps to relax the muscles and stop a seizure. Lemon is a common citrus, yet it has magical powers that we don’t understand and underestimate. I wanted to learn more and find answers, so I decided to go to China which has a long history of herbal medicine. I went to TCM schools in China and Hong Kong and worked in the TCM hospitals to learn from the best herbal doctors in the world.

When I was there, I knew one day I would want to become an herbalist, but how can I get a steady supply of high-quality herbs. My dad and I backpacked across China and visited many farmlands. We interviewed farmers to grow herbs for us. Our products are used with the highest quality herbs that have been harvested at the height of their potency. They are substantially more expensive than less potent herbs that were harvested in the pre- or post-season.

After I came back to the United State, I worked with my dad and learned from his experiences and studied the formulas that our ancestors passed down. What I have been through helped me to understand the importance of health. Without health, don’t even talk about career, beauty, education, freedom, etc. I now have worked with many families who have suffered as I have. Their endearing appreciation drives me to work harder.

Our namesake "Silkie" is a Chinese breed of chicken that is well known for its calm and friendly temperament. They are gentle and caring and make wonderful mothers. A Silkie loves nothing more than brooding a cluster of eggs, whether they are hers or not, even if they are "duck eggs". We share the same outlook and care for our clients the same way we care for our own family.
