Đây là câu chuyện của tôi.
Nếu bạn cảm thấy nghi ngờ hoặc không chắc chắn về các bài thuốc thảo dược Trung Quốc, tôi khó có thể trách bạn. Tôi cũng không tin cho đến khi con gái tôi bị bệnh nặng và cha tôi (là người làm nghề thảo dược thế hệ thứ 4) đã giúp con bé khỏe hơn bằng thảo dược.
Tôi sinh ra trong một gia đình làm nghề thảo dược. Cha tôi, ông tôi, ông cố tôi, ông cố tôi đều là những người làm nghề thảo dược. Tôi đại diện cho thế hệ thứ 5 trong dòng dõi lâu đời này có từ thời Trung Hoa Đế quốc.
Khi tôi ba hoặc bốn tuổi, tôi bắt đầu học các bài hát thảo dược và cách nhận dạng các loại thảo mộc. Khi lớn lên, tôi được dạy cách chế biến các loại thảo mộc trong khi làm việc tại phòng khám của bố tôi ở Việt Nam. Sau khi chúng tôi di cư đến Hoa Kỳ, bố tôi hỏi tôi có muốn theo đuổi sự nghiệp trong Y học cổ truyền Trung Quốc với tư cách là một bác sĩ thảo dược hoặc chuyên gia châm cứu không. Tôi nói, "Không, bố cứ để con yên đi. Con sẽ tìm một công việc mà con thích làm." Vì vậy, bố để tôi tự tìm con đường của riêng mình.
Tôi không muốn dính dáng gì đến thuốc thảo dược cho đến khi tôi sinh đứa con gái thứ hai, Catherine, bị trào ngược dạ dày nghiêm trọng. Khi Catherine được 10 ngày tuổi, tôi phải đưa con đến phòng cấp cứu để tiêm tĩnh mạch vào bàn tay nhỏ của con vì con không thể giữ được sữa. Ngoài việc nôn mửa, con còn bị tiêu chảy. Catherine bị mất dinh dưỡng từ cả hai đầu, vì vậy cơ thể nhỏ bé của con ngày càng teo tóp. Vào thời điểm đó, bố tôi đã cảnh báo tôi, "Con bé cần được điều trị bằng thuốc thảo dược, nếu không con bé sẽ bị co giật sau này". Tôi không hiểu hết những gì bố tôi đang nói, vì vậy tôi đã phớt lờ ông ấy.
Con gái tôi bị ốm đến mức chỉ có thể uống được nửa ounce sữa mỗi giờ. Trước khi cho con bú, tôi sẽ dùng ống tiêm và tiêm Zantac vào miệng con để giảm nôn. Theo thời gian, con cần sữa thường xuyên hơn và do đó cần nhiều Zantac hơn. Đến khi Catherine được 8 tháng tuổi, con cần được cho bú và uống thuốc 11 lần một ngày.
Tôi hầu như không thể ngủ, ăn, tắm rửa hay nghỉ ngơi. Ngay cả vào ban đêm, tôi phải đắp con gái lên vai để con bé ngủ. Nếu tôi đặt Catherine xuống, con bé sẽ nôn. Tôi hầu như không có thời gian để tắm 5 phút một hoặc hai lần một tuần cho bản thân. Tôi kiệt sức, nhưng tôi có thể làm gì? Tôi phải chăm sóc con gái và cố gắng hết sức để sống sót qua từng ngày với hy vọng rằng con bé sẽ khỏe hơn hoặc ít nhất là tình trạng của con bé sẽ không trở nên tồi tệ hơn.
Catherine phải mặc áo cổ lọ với hai chiếc áo len cùng với mũ trẻ em và khăn quàng cổ để ra ngoài trong cái nóng của mùa hè, ngay cả khi nhiệt độ lên tới hơn 100 độ. Nếu tôi không che chắn cho con bé, con bé sẽ bị sổ mũi, ho và nôn liên tục. Làm sao con bé có thể đến trường hoặc bất cứ nơi nào có máy lạnh?
Một ngày nọ, chúng tôi đến một nhà hàng phở Việt Nam. Sau khi đặt Catherine xuống ghế cao, tôi quay lại và chỉnh lại ghế. Sau đó, tôi nghe thấy tiếng một người phụ nữ hét lên, "Nhìn cô ấy kìa!" Tôi nhìn theo hướng cô ấy chỉ. Đó là Catherine… mắt cô ấy trợn ngược và toàn thân cứng đờ và run rẩy với chất lỏng chảy ra từ miệng. Có người nói, "Vắt một ít chanh vào miệng cô ấy." Tôi làm theo mà không do dự và cơ thể Catherine thả lỏng.
Chúng tôi vội vã đưa con bé đến phòng cấp cứu. Trong 3 ngày, con bé ở trong NICU, nơi họ theo dõi não của con bé. Các bác sĩ nói với tôi rằng tôi may mắn vì cơn động kinh của con gái tôi không kéo dài quá 3 phút, điều này có thể làm tổn thương não của con bé. Sau đó, tôi luôn mang theo một miếng chanh vì tôi không biết khi nào con gái bé bỏng của tôi có thể bị động kinh lần nữa.
Các cơn động kinh bắt đầu xuất hiện hàng tuần, vì vậy bác sĩ kê đơn thuốc chống động kinh. Catherine thậm chí còn chưa được 1 tuổi, và cô bé đã uống Zantac 11 lần cộng với thuốc chống động kinh 3 lần một ngày. Gần như không thể tiêm thuốc chống động kinh vì bất cứ khi nào tôi rút ống tiêm ra, cô bé sẽ khóc và bắt đầu nôn.
Tôi đưa Catherine đến gặp bác sĩ chuyên khoa tại CHOC. Tôi hỏi, “Bác sĩ, bác sĩ đã từng thấy trẻ sơ sinh nào mắc tình trạng này mà khỏe lại chưa?” Bác sĩ trả lời, “Tùy từng trường hợp. Một số trẻ sẽ khỏi bệnh khi lớn lên, nhưng một số thì không. Nếu không khỏi, thì chúng sẽ phải dùng thuốc suốt đời.”
"Ý anh là sao khi nói "trưởng thành" vậy?" Bác sĩ giải thích rằng Catherine có thể tự khỏe hơn khi cô ấy lớn tuổi hơn.
Tâm trí tôi đang chạy đua. “Suốt thời gian này, thuốc theo toa không chữa được bệnh dạ dày của cô ấy sao?” Bác sĩ nói, “Không, nó chỉ giúp dẫn thức ăn xuống, để cô ấy không nôn ra. Đó là lý do tại sao bạn phải cho cô ấy uống thuốc trước khi cho ăn.”
“Ồ, nếu cô ấy không khỏi thì sao?” Trong trường hợp đó, Catherine sẽ phải phụ thuộc vào thuốc trong suốt quãng đời còn lại. Bác sĩ còn thông báo thêm với tôi rằng cô ấy cũng bị trào ngược dạ dày thực quản bẩm sinh và vẫn đang dùng thuốc điều trị tình trạng này.
Câu nói của cô ấy như tia chớp trong đầu tôi. Nếu bác sĩ thậm chí còn không thể tự chữa trào ngược dạ dày, thì làm sao cô ấy có thể giúp con gái tôi? Thấy con đường của mình vô ích, tôi quay sang cầu cứu bố.
Bố tôi khuyên tôi nên ngừng tất cả các loại thuốc Tây và kê đơn thuốc thảo dược cho cô ấy 3 lần một ngày. Việc cho Catherine uống thuốc 3 lần thay vì 14 lần một ngày là một điều may mắn đối với tôi. Mặc dù nghe có vẻ quá tốt để có thể là sự thật, tôi nghĩ rằng tôi vẫn có thể cho Catherine uống Zantac nếu cô ấy không khỏe hơn hoặc tiếp tục nôn.
Sau một tháng dùng thảo dược 3 lần một ngày, Catherine nôn ngày càng ít hơn. Để kiểm tra Catherine, tôi để cô ấy khóc để xem cô ấy có nôn không. Cô ấy không nôn, vì vậy tôi biết cô ấy đang khỏe hơn. Sau một tháng dùng thuốc thảo dược nữa, Catherine có thể mặc ít quần áo hơn mà không bị sổ mũi, ho hoặc nôn. Sau 3 tháng dùng công thức thảo dược, cô ấy đã ngừng bị trào ngược dạ dày và co giật. Catherine sẽ tận hưởng một cuộc sống bình thường, khỏe mạnh.
Vì Catherine hồi phục nhanh chóng, tôi đã tin tưởng vào thuốc Trung Quốc và nhờ bố tôi chữa cho tôi. Tôi rất dễ ngất xỉu, đặc biệt là vào mùa đông. Sau vài tháng dùng các bài thuốc thảo dược, tôi không bao giờ bị ngất nữa.
Tôi bắt đầu có thời gian để suy nghĩ và cố gắng hiểu tại sao một miếng chanh lại giúp thư giãn cơ và ngăn chặn cơn động kinh. Chanh là một loại cam quýt phổ biến, nhưng nó có sức mạnh kỳ diệu mà chúng ta không hiểu và đánh giá thấp. Tôi muốn tìm hiểu thêm và tìm câu trả lời, vì vậy tôi quyết định đến Trung Quốc, nơi có lịch sử lâu đời về y học thảo dược. Tôi đã đến các trường học Y học cổ truyền Trung Quốc và Hồng Kông và làm việc tại các bệnh viện Y học cổ truyền Trung Quốc để học hỏi từ những bác sĩ y học thảo dược giỏi nhất thế giới.
Khi tôi ở đó, tôi biết một ngày nào đó tôi sẽ muốn trở thành một nhà thảo dược, nhưng làm sao tôi có thể có được nguồn cung cấp thảo dược chất lượng cao ổn định. Bố tôi và tôi đã đi du lịch ba lô khắp Trung Quốc và đến thăm nhiều vùng đất nông nghiệp. Chúng tôi đã phỏng vấn những người nông dân để trồng thảo dược cho chúng tôi. Sản phẩm của chúng tôi được sử dụng với các loại thảo dược chất lượng cao nhất đã được thu hoạch ở thời kỳ đỉnh cao của chúng. Chúng đắt hơn đáng kể so với các loại thảo dược ít mạnh hơn được thu hoạch vào trước hoặc sau mùa.
Sau khi trở về Hoa Kỳ, tôi đã làm việc với cha tôi và học hỏi từ những kinh nghiệm của ông và nghiên cứu các công thức mà tổ tiên chúng tôi truyền lại. Những gì tôi đã trải qua đã giúp tôi hiểu được tầm quan trọng của sức khỏe. Không có sức khỏe, đừng nói đến sự nghiệp, sắc đẹp, giáo dục, tự do, v.v. Bây giờ tôi đã làm việc với nhiều gia đình đã phải chịu đựng như tôi. Sự trân trọng đáng yêu của họ thúc đẩy tôi làm việc chăm chỉ hơn.
Gà cùng tên " Silkie " của chúng tôi là giống gà Trung Quốc nổi tiếng với tính tình điềm tĩnh và thân thiện. Chúng hiền lành, chu đáo và là những bà mẹ tuyệt vời. Gà Silkie không thích gì hơn là ấp một chùm trứng, bất kể đó có phải của mình hay không, ngay cả khi đó là "trứng vịt". Chúng tôi chia sẻ cùng quan điểm và chăm sóc khách hàng của mình giống như cách chúng tôi chăm sóc gia đình mình.
