Incised Notopterygium Root (Qiang Huo) dispels wind and dampness, which are common contributors to arthritis pain and stiffness. It is particularly effective for alleviating pain in the upper body and limbs caused by wind-damp-cold. Its warming properties improve mobility and reduce discomfort.
Poria
Poria (Fu Ling) strengthens the spleen and resolves dampness, addressing one of the root causes of arthritis in TCM. By draining excess moisture from the body, it alleviates swelling and reduces the heaviness or stiffness associated with dampness in the joints.
Coix
Coix (Yi Yi Ren) promotes urination and resolves dampness, helping to reduce swelling and stiffness in arthritic joints. It also has mild anti-inflammatory properties, which support the overall management of arthritis symptoms. Coix nourishes the joints and improves mobility over time.
Twotooth achyranthes root
Twotooth Achyranthes Root (Niu Xi) promotes blood circulation and strengthens the bones and tendons. It is particularly beneficial for lower-body arthritis or stiffness. This herb also directs the effects of other herbs to the lower body, making it effective for hip or knee joint issues.

这是我的故事。
如果你对中草药疗法持怀疑态度或不确定，我很难责怪你。我以前也不相信，直到我女儿病得很重，我父亲（第四代草药医生）用草药帮助她好起来。
我出生在一个草药世家。我的父亲、祖父、曾祖父、高祖父都是草药师。我是这个可以追溯到中国封建时代的悠久家族的第五代传人。
我三四岁时就开始学习草药歌曲和如何识别草药。长大后，我在越南父亲的诊所工作时学会了如何加工草药。我们移民到美国后，父亲问我是否想从事中医职业，成为一名草药医生或针灸师。我说：“不，爸爸，别管我。我会找一份我喜欢的工作。”所以，他让我自己去寻找自己的道路。
在我生下第二个女儿凯瑟琳之前，我一直都不想接触草药。凯瑟琳出生时患有严重的胃反流病。凯瑟琳十天大的时候，我不得不带她去急诊室，给她的小手注射静脉注射剂，因为她无法把奶喝下去。除了呕吐，她还腹泻。凯瑟琳的双侧营养不足，她小小的身体越来越小。那时我爸爸警告我：“她需要用草药治疗，否则她以后会癫痫发作。”我当时并不完全明白爸爸在说什么，所以我没有理会他。

有一天，我们去了一家越南河粉餐厅。我把凯瑟琳放到高脚椅上后，转身调整了一下椅子。然后我听到一个女人喊道：“看她！”我顺着她指的方向看去。原来是凯瑟琳……她的眼睛向上翻白，整个身体僵硬颤抖，嘴里流着液体。有人说：“往她嘴里挤点柠檬汁。”我毫不犹豫地照做了，凯瑟琳的身体放松了下来。
我们赶紧把她送到了急诊室。她在新生儿重症监护室待了三天，医生们监测她的大脑。医生告诉我，我很幸运，因为我女儿的癫痫发作时间不超过 3 分钟，否则她的大脑就会受损。此后，我总是随身带着一片柠檬，因为我不知道我的宝贝女儿什么时候会再次癫痫发作。
癫痫发作每周都会发生一次，因此医生给她开了抗癫痫药。凯瑟琳还不到 1 岁，她已经每天服用 Zantac 11 次，外加 3 次抗癫痫药。几乎不可能给她注射抗癫痫药，因为每当我拿出注射器时，她就会哭闹并开始呕吐。

由于凯瑟琳康复得很快，我便开始相信中医，并请父亲为我治疗。我很容易晕倒，尤其是在冬天。经过几个月的中药治疗后，我再也没有晕倒过。
我开始有时间思考，试图理解为什么一片柠檬有助于放松肌肉并阻止癫痫发作。柠檬是一种常见的柑橘，但它却具有我们不了解和低估的神奇力量。我想了解更多并找到答案，所以我决定去拥有悠久草药历史的中国。我去了中国和香港的中医学校，并在中医院工作，向世界上最好的草药医生学习。
当我在那里时，我知道有一天我会成为一名草药师，但我如何才能获得稳定的优质草药供应。我和父亲背包游遍中国，参观了许多农田。我们采访了为我们种植草药的农民。我们的产品采用的是药效最强时收获的最高品质草药。它们比在季节前或季节后收获的药效较弱的草药贵得多。
