Research on Traditional Herbs Used for Qi, Blood and Circulatory Support
Modern research has examined the botanical composition and biological activities of individual herbs used in After Stroke (B) Formula, including Rhodiola Root (Hong Jing Tian), Chinese Angelica Root (Dang Gui), Safflower Flower (Hong Hua), and Lobed Kudzuvine Root (Ge Gen).
Published reviews discuss naturally occurring compounds found in these herbs and research involving antioxidant activity, healthy inflammatory responses, circulation, cellular function, physical resilience, and general wellness. Much of this research involves laboratory, animal, or ingredient-specific studies, so it does not establish that the complete Silkie Herbs® formula has been clinically proven to produce the same effects.
From a Traditional Chinese Medicine perspective, the herbs in After Stroke (B) Formula are selected according to their traditional functions rather than isolated chemical compounds alone. Hong Jing Tian is traditionally used to tonify Qi and invigorate Blood; Dang Gui nourishes and moves Blood; Hong Hua invigorates Blood and dispels Blood Stasis; and Ge Gen relaxes the muscle layer and raises clear Yang Qi.
Together, these traditional actions support the TCM principles of moving Qi and Blood, nourishing the facial muscles and channels, opening the channels and collaterals, and maintaining constitutional strength and internal balance.*
